Say It Ain’t So! I'm not letting go of Summer.
Summer is unofficially over, but we just can’t let go! Here are great wines to take you through the “shoulder season” while we still have hot summer nights before we see crisp fall days.
Rosé is not just for July BBQs. This rosé is medium bodied with flavors that transcend the seasons. And while you may have been drinking rosé all summer - have you had a Merlot and Blaufränkish rosé blend?
Writer’s note: Frankovka is the Czech word for Blaufränkish. (Did you just learn something new today?)
This wine has been a hit all summer, especially slightly chilled (the way Heidi prefers it). But the blend of juiciness and earthiness is the perfect style to bridge the season. And my preference of serving room temperature is a great fit for taking us into fall.
The Terror line of wines from Volařík are brilliant single vineyard wines that represent the grapes in stunning fashion. This welschriesling is no different. Medium bodied, this dry white brings a little more substance than your porch-drinking-riesling. A great choice for a white wine to go with your roast poultry this season.
Cheers to fall being just around the corner! (AKA Jeans and boots season.) :-)
