They go together like lamb and tuna fish….or Czech wine and Italian food!
OK, so unless you’re a Adam Sandler fan and know Big Daddy quotes, the lamb and tuna fish combo might not seem appealing (or funny). But Czech wine with Italian food? Yes please! While I do love a good Nebbiolo with my Veal Saltimbocca, when we paired the biodynamic wines from Krasna hora with the homemade dishes from Trattoria Locanda in Fishkill, NY….well the combination was something to write about (see what I did there?…yeah you get it).
While only Austria separates Italy from the Czech Republic, people would not consider pairing a Moravian wine with their calamari or ravioli. But the beautiful thing is these wines with their dry minerality really complemented the fresh southern Italian cuisine. Here are a few pairings of Krasna hora wines we recommend trying with some of the hand crafted menu items:
- Ryzlink rýnský (Riesling) with the Arugula Salad or Rigatoni Buttera
- Blanc de Noir (rosé) with the Grilled Salmon or Chicken Marsala
- Cuvée Bernety (Bordeaux-style blend) with the Veal Saltimbocca or Chicken Sorrentino
